Active during the 50’s and early-60’s, Dorham performed with the likes of Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. He recorded many albums as a leader for Blue Note Records, often featuring his friend and collaborator Joe Henderson on Tenor Sax. Dorham’s unique compositional style was heavily influenced by the music of South America, in particular Brazilian Bossa Nova. Expect this, as well as the usual swinging, high-energy, Hardbop tempos!
