Matt Roberts will direct the Durham Alumni Big Band in a fun nostalgic gig of themes from the 1980s

Matt Roberts
As an active trumpeter in the jazz and pop worlds, Matt has performed on radio broadcasts for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1xtra, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3, Jazz FM, as well as prime time TV appearances on BBC 1, Channel 4 and ITV.

In the jazz world, Matt has performed alongside Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler, Sir John Dankworth, Mike Gibbs, Tim Garland, Mark Lockheart, Julian Siegel, Abram Wilson, Soweto Kinch, Denys Baptiste, Mark Nightingale, Steve Waterman, Alan Barnes, and many more. He has also performed as part of the ‘National Youth Jazz Orchestra’, the ‘Voice of the North Jazz Orchestra’ and the ‘Conservatoires UK Big Band’.

Durham Alumni Big Band
The Durham Alumni Big Band was first formed in 2007 featuring top the top musicians from Durham and the surround area having played all over the region. They have been joined by some of the top jazz artists in the world including Al Wood, Dave O Higgins, Dennis Rollins and many more.
